The sting targeted sex buyers, child predators, and individuals involved in the sex trade, with charges including child sex trafficking, prostitution, and attempted sexual conduct with minors. No actual children were involved, as decoys were used to ensure safety. Participating agencies included Phoenix Police, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and others from across the Valley. This operation highlighted the persistent demand driving trafficking in urban areas.
The focus was on hotel and street-level activity, with arrests including charges for child sex crimes and weapons offenses. This operation involved partnerships with ICE and local Valley police departments, demonstrating the ongoing commitment to reducing exploitation during peak summer periods.
Charges ranged from child sex trafficking and prostitution to drug offenses, with 53 felonies and 149 misdemeanors filed. Multi-agency support included Goodyear, Surprise, and Yavapai County police, along with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. This sting emphasized targeting demand to curb trafficking networks.
Announced in June 2025, the operation involved HSI Phoenix, Phoenix PD, Mesa PD, Chandler PD, and other agencies. All arrests were of individuals attempting to solicit minors, with no real children endangered. This initiative aimed to disrupt online and in-person predation.
Conducted by Scottsdale PD with HSI and Valley partners, this multi-day sting focused on hotel and street prostitution. Announced in June 2025, it continued the trend of collaborative enforcement to address seasonal spikes in trafficking activity.
Phase 1 in August yielded 47 arrests over three days, while Phase 2 in November added 16 more. One juvenile victim was rescued during the operation. Agencies involved included GCU Police, Phoenix PD, Arizona DPS, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and the County Attorney’s Office. While effective in addressing community concerns, this operation has sparked discussions about distinguishing victims from perpetrators.

These operations collectively represent over 700 arrests in just two years, showcasing Arizona’s proactive stance against human trafficking. However, arrests are only the first step. Many individuals caught in these stings may themselves be survivors coerced into the trade. At Destiny House, we advocate for victim-centered approaches, including diversion programs and access to services rather than punitive measures. The Road to Restoration: How You Can HelpHuman trafficking thrives in the shadows, but recovery happens in community.
